This Tilapia is grilled hot while it is basted in a lightly flavored marinade. Try making it for dinner and watch as your family can't help but compliment your cooking.
Ingredients
2 pounds/900 g tilapia fillets1 cup/240 mL vegetable oil
1 small onion, chopped
1 bell pepper, chopped
Juice of 1 lemon
1 tablespoon/15 mL vinegar
2 teaspoons/10 mL cayenne or red pepper flakes
Steps to Make It
Instructions
Combine all ingredients except for the tilapia. Mix well until the salt is dissolved.
Place tilapia in a glass dish and cover with marinade. Turn to coat and set aside for 20 minutes.
Preheat grill.
Pour marinade into a saucepan and bring to a boil, reduce heat and let simmer on low for about 3 to 4 minutes. Remove from heat and let sauce cool.
Grill tilapia fillets over a medium-high heat for about 4 to 5 minutes per side or until the internal temperature at the thickest part of fish reaches between 145 to 150 F.
Serve by pouring a small amount of the sauce over the tilapia fillet
