Baked caramel bananas

Why recepie famous for?

The kids will love helping out in the kitchen to create this sweet banana treat.

Ingredients


4 ripe bananas, halved lengthways
100g (1/2 cup, firmly packed) brown sugar
1 tablespoon unsweetened apple juice
50g butter, melted
4 scoops light vanilla ice-cream (Streets brand)

Instructions


Step 1
Preheat oven to 200°C. Arrange bananas, cut-side down, over the base of a square 24cm (base measurement) ovenproof dish.
Step 2
Kid's task: Combine the sugar, apple juice and melted butter in a jug and pour evenly over the bananas.
Step 3
Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes or until the bananas are tender and the sauce thickens. Remove from oven.
Step 4
Use an egg lifter to divide bananas evenly among serving dishes. Serve with ice-cream.
